Magic Wand

Hello lovely people,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday! :) I wanted to dedicate this post to all of the ladies who want to obtain beautifully curled hair with a wand...I call this the MAGIC WAND! It really does miracles. lol.

Here are a few examples of the how the curls turn out with the wand:

My beautiful sister with freshly made curls.

If you have been a regular reader, you'll remember the lovely bride-to-be Neyla. (also freshly made curls)

& last but not least yours truly...I curled my hair the day before and this is how they came out the next day. (My hair has never stayed curled more than 2 hours!)

So how did we achieve such tight curls???? No worries, I'm here to help! ;) These are the supplies you will need (or some sort of generic version of them):

1. The Conair Wand (I purchased this for like $19 at Walmart, but I think they are now about $32.)

2. Dove Hairspray (which smells AMAZING!) approximately = $4

 3. TresemmĆ© Heat Protectant Spray (also wonderful smell) $3
 4. Dove Argan Oil Hair Therapy Spray (Very light beautiful fragrance) $2
Steps below:

1. Part your hair into sections (which makes it easier to curl). I tend to start at the very back bottom part of my head and move up towards the crown.

2. Spray Hair with Tresemme Heat Protectant Spray & comb through all of your hair.

3. Lightly Spray the Dove Argan Oil Hair Therapy Spray & comb through all of your hair.

4. Take the section you will begin to curl and VERY LIGHTLY spray the Dove Hairspray on it. Depending on the size of your parts it may take one to two pumps.

5. Let it sit and dry for about a minute. (This will give you time to turn on your wand, which take about 10 seconds to heat).

6. Now take your wand and make some magic happen. I find it easier when I hold the smallest part of the want downwards when wrapping my hair around it. For really LONG hair, you'll probably have to do one half of your hair & then the lower part of your hair.

7. For thick hair leave wand in for 10 seconds but NO more than 25 seconds! If it doesn't curl at like 10 seconds you might want to curl smaller amounts of hair. For thin hair, 7 seconds will hold a good curl.

8. Once curls have cooled down, spray them again with Dove Hairspray &...TADAAAA, you're done!!! :)

***It takes me like 30-45 minutes to do my hair, and if you know my hair...then you know it's THICK & LONG!!! LOL

Here's a tutorial video below just in case! ;)

Alright ladies, I hope this helps! Btw, you can do steps 1-3 before straitening you hair & it will be very smooth and shiny! ALWAYS USE HEAT PROTECTANT SPRAY!

Go...Go...GO & LOOK FABULOUS! ;) Have a blessed day!

Love,
D

Fast Forward to July 2018...

Hello ladies, Has it really been two years since I've blogged??? I really dropped the ball this time. In my defense, I was off social media for one of those years. You know... the whole "social-media cleanse." Which by the way would have been a total success if I hadn't become a youth leader and needed to promote events. LOL. All for the greater good tho. Wow, I don't even know where to start, so I'll start with I'M SORRY and I've missed blogging! So much has happened since my move to the Sunshine State. Here's a quick overview: 1. I was jobless for two months. 2. By God's grace, I landed a job in Flood Insurance. 3. Found a church home, became a member, and a youth leader and Sunday School teacher(obviously not right away) 5. Found the greatest and most loving church family...I wouldn't replace them for the world 4. Quit my job in Flood Insurance (long story), and started working at an Elementary School as an ESOL Paraprofess...

"Curly" Straws beautify! :)

Happy Thursday loves, I'm really exhausted today, but I thought one thing would cheer me up...BLOGGING! :) So thanks to the fabulous Divas in my life who research just as much as I do about fashion, here is another trick for your hair. Curls! These are really tight curls, but there are many other tutorials to show you how to loosen them. You will need the following items to accomplish this look: STRAWS, Bobby pins ,  & maybe some hairspray. Yes, you read correctly...Straws! (^.^) No curling iron, no flat iron, no heat...all natural. hehehehe. My older sister actually used this trick on her daughters hair, which is long a beautiful, and it was adorable! Cheap way to make curls...I think it's a WINNER! They really do come out beautiful. Personally, I haven't tried it yet...probably because I'll need a WHOLE BUNCH of straws for my hair, but I think it's worth trying. I'll let you know how mine turn out & feel free to let us know your results ...

Quick Lil Tips

Hi! God Bless Everyone! Hope all is well! Remember back a few months when I told you about the uses for Coconut Oil?! Coconut Oil as Face Moisturizer Well, I tried the coconut oil and I tried it on my face as a moisturizer. It works very well with my skin. My skin is oily so I thought my face was going to look like straight up oil BUT it didn't ;) Also, I had a few bumps around my nose/upper lip area because I went and got it waxed along with my eyebrows and chin LOL! Obviously my skin is not made for that so I won't be doing that again...well, I won't be waxing near my nose/lip area... NO NO NO! Because it has anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial functions I decided to try it out around the nose/lip area and guess what? That allergic reaction I had to the waxing is gone :) YAY! I also use a topical cream on my face that dries my skin out but because I use the Coconot Oil on my face, my face doesn't peel anymore! Another thing I noticed about using coconut ...
