SPRING is here! What's trendy?

Hello my beautiful readers!

Let's all give a nice welcome to SPRING! One of the most beautiful seasons of the year. It let's me know SUMMER is right around the corner. Time has flown by so quickly.

I wanted to update my ladies on some trends for this season, just in case, you weren't able to read up on Fashion Week in New York. I'm going to try to do these in advance, so you can begin looking for things ahead of time.

Some of the top trends for this season are Crop Tops, Bright Colors (especially Orange), Boho/Tribal print, Denim (not sure why it's considered a trend, since it's classic), Floral Prints, Whites, Chiffon/Pleats, Checkered print, Monochrome patterns, and Fringe.

EXAMPLES:
 1. Crop Tops
I must say the skirts are very modest and adorable!

2. Orange/Bright Colors

3. BOHO/TRIBAL PRINT

4. Denim

5. Floral Prints

6. Whites

7. Chiffon/Pleats

8. Checkered
9. Monochrome
10. Fringe

Crop tops aren't modest, since they do reveal a thin area of the abdomen. If you really want to wear this trend, I would highly advise wearing something underneath like a tank top to keep it modest. Some crop tops are necessarily snatched, so you can manage to pull it off. You can also choose a tank top that's near your complexion if you want to keep the ultimate crop top look. Personally, I don't have the body shape for it, so the snatched ones are a no go for me. LOL.

Every other trend has it's modest pieces, so I'm not too worried about explaining how to keep those modest. There is only 1 trend this season that did not impress me...CAN YOU GUESS WHICH ONE?

FRINGE, the extreme cases.

An example? No problem!!!

Good Fringe:

HORRIBLE FRINGE:

Somebody...ANYBODY...please explain this fashion disaster????

Also, heels are much much lower for this spring. The mule heel was very popular on the runway. If you have no idea what that is here's an example:

Although I'm not a huge fan of these particular examples, there are some cute mule heels out there. On the bright side, our feet get some rest this season. You know 99% of us own SUPER HIGH heels. These are a little old-fashioned, but no worries...they are NOT the only heel that has come in this season.

EXAMPLES:

I hope this helps you ladies & keeps you in with FASHION! There's always a way to stay modest, and still be fashionable. I do not agree with the mentality that we need to be modest and boring. HAPPY SHOPPING!!! Have a blessed day!

Love,
D

Fast Forward to July 2018...

Hello ladies, Has it really been two years since I've blogged??? I really dropped the ball this time. In my defense, I was off social media for one of those years. You know... the whole "social-media cleanse." Which by the way would have been a total success if I hadn't become a youth leader and needed to promote events. LOL. All for the greater good tho. Wow, I don't even know where to start, so I'll start with I'M SORRY and I've missed blogging! So much has happened since my move to the Sunshine State. Here's a quick overview: 1. I was jobless for two months. 2. By God's grace, I landed a job in Flood Insurance. 3. Found a church home, became a member, and a youth leader and Sunday School teacher(obviously not right away) 5. Found the greatest and most loving church family...I wouldn't replace them for the world 4. Quit my job in Flood Insurance (long story), and started working at an Elementary School as an ESOL Paraprofess...

"Curly" Straws beautify! :)

Happy Thursday loves, I'm really exhausted today, but I thought one thing would cheer me up...BLOGGING! :) So thanks to the fabulous Divas in my life who research just as much as I do about fashion, here is another trick for your hair. Curls! These are really tight curls, but there are many other tutorials to show you how to loosen them. You will need the following items to accomplish this look: STRAWS, Bobby pins ,  & maybe some hairspray. Yes, you read correctly...Straws! (^.^) No curling iron, no flat iron, no heat...all natural. hehehehe. My older sister actually used this trick on her daughters hair, which is long a beautiful, and it was adorable! Cheap way to make curls...I think it's a WINNER! They really do come out beautiful. Personally, I haven't tried it yet...probably because I'll need a WHOLE BUNCH of straws for my hair, but I think it's worth trying. I'll let you know how mine turn out & feel free to let us know your results ...

Quick Lil Tips

Hi! God Bless Everyone! Hope all is well! Remember back a few months when I told you about the uses for Coconut Oil?! Coconut Oil as Face Moisturizer Well, I tried the coconut oil and I tried it on my face as a moisturizer. It works very well with my skin. My skin is oily so I thought my face was going to look like straight up oil BUT it didn't ;) Also, I had a few bumps around my nose/upper lip area because I went and got it waxed along with my eyebrows and chin LOL! Obviously my skin is not made for that so I won't be doing that again...well, I won't be waxing near my nose/lip area... NO NO NO! Because it has anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial functions I decided to try it out around the nose/lip area and guess what? That allergic reaction I had to the waxing is gone :) YAY! I also use a topical cream on my face that dries my skin out but because I use the Coconot Oil on my face, my face doesn't peel anymore! Another thing I noticed about using coconut ...
