Werk or Work? How about both?

Hi loves,

It's me again. lol. You know I cannot stay way for long. As promised, I am bringing you one of the outfits at my recent mini photo shoot...well, I thought it was going to be a mini one. Let's just say, models have an exhausting job.

On top of having to change out my clothes in public (yes, I've mastered that...sort of.), random people passing by and watching (so out of my comfort zone), and having to pose a million ways in almost the same position to get the right shots...*bowing down to the pros*...it's exhausting.

However, out of all of the pictures taken here are a few, and I will continue to post some just not all at once.

For this outfit, I wanted to do more of a work outfit. Most of us work in a professional work place, so I wanted to give you a bit of inspiration on how to spice up that boring solid color outfit. lol. We all have them. Unfortunately, I can't remember, for the life of me, where I purchased the skirt or blazer.

At any rate, it's a navy blazer with navy buttons, a white t-shirt/blouse, a yellow-goldish skirt, and my crazy colored Steve Madden pumps. I am a person who loves tons of color, so this is normal for me. If you want to tone it down, feel free to add a more subtle skirt color.

I also straightened my hair and curled the ends. You know...the small flip of the wrist. ;) Then as my "accessories" (I forgot to include my purse), I went with the simple chic look of the IPhone and my Betsy Johnson wallet, which also has tons of color with gold detail.

I don't know if the pictures will fool you at all, but that walk is alot harder than it looks especially on that type of ground. hehehehe.

Enjoy some of the silly pictures on me! :) LOL. I mean if you have hair this long, you better whip it and keep it moving! lol. Werk!

Let me know how you like them, and a huge thank you to my sister Joann for making this shoot a lot of fun and being patient with me! :) I hope this gives you a little bit of "workflow" inspiration. Thank you for reading.

 Have a blessed Wednesday!

Love,
D

Fast Forward to July 2018...

Hello ladies, Has it really been two years since I've blogged??? I really dropped the ball this time. In my defense, I was off social media for one of those years. You know... the whole "social-media cleanse." Which by the way would have been a total success if I hadn't become a youth leader and needed to promote events. LOL. All for the greater good tho. Wow, I don't even know where to start, so I'll start with I'M SORRY and I've missed blogging! So much has happened since my move to the Sunshine State. Here's a quick overview: 1. I was jobless for two months. 2. By God's grace, I landed a job in Flood Insurance. 3. Found a church home, became a member, and a youth leader and Sunday School teacher(obviously not right away) 5. Found the greatest and most loving church family...I wouldn't replace them for the world 4. Quit my job in Flood Insurance (long story), and started working at an Elementary School as an ESOL Paraprofess...

"Curly" Straws beautify! :)

Happy Thursday loves, I'm really exhausted today, but I thought one thing would cheer me up...BLOGGING! :) So thanks to the fabulous Divas in my life who research just as much as I do about fashion, here is another trick for your hair. Curls! These are really tight curls, but there are many other tutorials to show you how to loosen them. You will need the following items to accomplish this look: STRAWS, Bobby pins ,  & maybe some hairspray. Yes, you read correctly...Straws! (^.^) No curling iron, no flat iron, no heat...all natural. hehehehe. My older sister actually used this trick on her daughters hair, which is long a beautiful, and it was adorable! Cheap way to make curls...I think it's a WINNER! They really do come out beautiful. Personally, I haven't tried it yet...probably because I'll need a WHOLE BUNCH of straws for my hair, but I think it's worth trying. I'll let you know how mine turn out & feel free to let us know your results ...

Quick Lil Tips

Hi! God Bless Everyone! Hope all is well! Remember back a few months when I told you about the uses for Coconut Oil?! Coconut Oil as Face Moisturizer Well, I tried the coconut oil and I tried it on my face as a moisturizer. It works very well with my skin. My skin is oily so I thought my face was going to look like straight up oil BUT it didn't ;) Also, I had a few bumps around my nose/upper lip area because I went and got it waxed along with my eyebrows and chin LOL! Obviously my skin is not made for that so I won't be doing that again...well, I won't be waxing near my nose/lip area... NO NO NO! Because it has anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial functions I decided to try it out around the nose/lip area and guess what? That allergic reaction I had to the waxing is gone :) YAY! I also use a topical cream on my face that dries my skin out but because I use the Coconot Oil on my face, my face doesn't peel anymore! Another thing I noticed about using coconut ...
